Acts 2: 47

(Acts 2: 47)

Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.

A person who is saved does not mean that he has been saved, but that he can be saved (KJV). In the NIV, it is translated as "the saved." Listening to the sermon, verse 47 says, ``Praising God, and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved. The number of believers means that three thousand souls have been added. (KJV) It means that there are three thousand people who can be saved, not those who are saved. NIV is indicated by the number of members. The translation of the Bible is often ambiguous.

This is presumed to have been translated under the premise that If you believe and receive baptism, you will be saved. Simon, the sorcerer who followed Deacon Philip, believed and was baptized, but Peter said, "A man full of evil." The KJV was translated 500 years ago in England, while the NIV was translated 50 years ago in the United States. Philippi's jailer said to Paul, "What must I do to be saved?" Paul said, "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you and your household will be saved." The Philippian jailer was a repentant. But Simon the sorcerer was unrepentant.

The prison guard at Philippi saw that the prison gate was open and tried to commit himself with the sword. However, after hearing Paul's voice, he trembled in fear. He was not afraid of death, he was afraid of God. Repentance can only be done by fearing God. Today, the reason why we do not keep God's Word well is because we do not have a heart to fear God. Those who are not afraid of God make excuses for the situation or pass responsibility to the other person. This is the old snake's strategy. Those who have not repented are in this state.

Repentance begins with knowing that God is great and fearful, and realizing that you are a fallen and inevitable being. Otherwise, everything becomes my center. If it is good for me, I will do it, and if I do not like it, I will become a person who does not. .

Those who repent have nothing to do with whether they are good for me or not, and only bring joy to God. Today, in many cases, they seek self-salvation. I am interested in whether I am saved or not. Those who are saved are to seek the God who made us and created us, to realize that we are sinners, to find Jesus who died for my sins, and to be united with Jesus. The path of unity with Jesus is a narrow path. Those who go down the narrow path are those who repent. Repentance is because the owner changes. Those who love the world are those who go on a wide path. But those who are united with Jesus on the cross are those who go down the narrow path.

Those who go down the narrow road do not worry about the things of the world, because Jesus is the master. Those who believe that they will be saved if they believe without knowing the meaning of repentance feel good in the world because Jesus is not the master, but the devil is the master. Those who repent are rejected by the world, and I, too, forsake the world with my heart. However, if you believe in Jesus, envy the world, and love the world, it is inevitably a fake faith. If the church has an ups and downs view of faith, they are likely to be in false faith. The real blessing is the way to get out of the work of the world and be united with the Lord. It is a real blessing to be persecuted for Jesus.
