Acts 1: 6-11

(Acts 1: 6-11)

When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel?  And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power.  But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight. And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel; Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.

Just as the Jews misunderstood the kingdom of God, the disciples also misunderstood the kingdom of God. When the disciples gathered together, they asked Jesus this way.
When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel? When Jesus told me not to leave Jerusalem, but to wait for what the Father had promised, the disciples accepted Jesus' words as meaning that they would destroy the unrighteous forces and establish the Messianic Kingdom in the land of Israel. That time, that is, the time of recovery through the last judgment would have been a great desire to be right now.

Jesus' answer to him is, "And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power. But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth .

Jesus says that times and times are strictly God's authority, and this should not be the focus of attention, and at the same time, it is not the end times that we really need to be interested in, but the attitude as a person waiting for the day when the Lord will come again. have. And it is the life of a witness. The Holy Spirit already resides in the believers who enshrined Jesus as the master of their lives, and the Holy Spirit gives them the confidence and patience to become the Lord's witnesses.

Jesus mentioned that the range of places where the saints should be witnesses is Jerusalem and all Judea, Samaria and the ends of the earth. Here, if Jerusalem and the whole Judea are close to us both in the distance and mentally and are familiar to us, families, relatives, friends, and neighbors, Samaria and the ends of the earth can be regarded as different countries, different ethnicities, and alienated places geographically. It includes people who have built up barriers that are hardly acceptable, people who are disliked and reluctant, and people who are out of interest.

The disciples thought of the kingdom of God in the Jews, but Jesus spoke of the end of the earth beyond the Jews, and the disciples focused on the timing and the time, but the Lord spoke of the true attitude and mission of life of those who live a fixed time, not the time and time. .

Jesus said that he would definitely come. In other words, the end of the world will surely come. The existence of an end indicates that the time given to the saints can never happen by accident without purpose. That is, all the time of the saints is moving according to God's purpose and providence.
